Description: This presentation will briefly review the epidemiology, risk factors and local prevalence of Lyme disease in dogs. Interpretation of initial screening and diagnostic testing, and case management strategies based on screening/diagnostic and clinical features will be discussed. A practical guide to disease control, including recently published information on vaccination and tick control will be presented.
Title: Canine Leptospirosis: Prime Suspect
Description: This presentation will briefly review the epidemiology, risk factors and prevalence of leptospirosis in dogs. Information on clinical management, including clinical signs, diagnostics, treatment and prognosis will be presented. Management of the zoonotic aspects of leptospirosis will also be discussed. A practical guide to disease control will be explained, and there will be an emphasis on recently published peer-reviewed information.
