We are looking for an individual who truly loves animals, medicine, and people! We are accepting candidates for either full-time or part-time hours. We welcome both experienced and new graduate applicants.

We are currently a 3-doctor hospital and are well staffed, including 6 board-certified veterinary technicians. We have a dedicated dental suite with digital dental radiographs, a dedicated surgical suite, digital radiography, abdominal ultrasound, therapeutic laser, and full in-house laboratory capabilities. We have separate dog and cat wards and an isolation ward. We have separate exam rooms for our feline and canine patients as well as separate waiting areas. Our appointments are 30 minutes long and our practice management software is all cloud based.

REGISTERED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN

The League for Animal Welfare is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Batavia. Founded in 1949, we operate a no-kill animal shelter that houses and cares for more than 2,000 homeless animals each year; and affordable public veterinary programs that assist another 3,000 pets and their families.

We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician (MUST be licensed in the state of Ohio) to join our team!

The RVT will work with our Public Animal Wellness Clinic team to provide accessible, experienced, quality vet care for our community’s families. This includes seeing patients for full-service care appointments; assisting our veterinarians in surgery; and providing excellent, customer-service-oriented, knowledgeable care to all patients we see.

Applicants must be able to:

  • Safely and effectively perform venipuncture, as well as IV and IM induction, and intubate cats and dogs.
  • Administer medication (orally, SQ, IM, and IV)
  • Draw blood
  • Perform diagnostic tests, including blood draws, X-rays, urinalyses, and fecals
  • Safely and properly restrain animals
  • Take accurate patient histories
  • Monitor and order inventory
  • Input medical data into our systems
  • Communicate clearly with clients and other staff members
  • Lift at least 50lbs; bend; kneel; walk strong dogs; and have reliable transportation.
  • Be a can-do, positive, independent team member who is ready to bring compassion and support to her team and her clients.

This position includes 3 10-hour days on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (7am-5pm); and ideally Sundays from 9am-3pm (Sundays are negotiable; part-time available but candidate must be able to work the Monday/Wednesday/Thursday schedule; full-time hours available with Sundays).

Full-time employees are eligible for paid time off, employee health insurance (75% paid by the League), dental, vision, short term disability and many other supplemental benefits.
